To date, no illnesses or complaints have been reported in connection with this voluntary recall. The potential for contamination was discovered after Sunshine Mills was notified by the Georgia Department of Agriculture that a sample of a 3-pound bag of the product had tested positive for Salmonella. Sunshine Mills conducted its own testing of multiple samples from the same lot, all of which tested negative for Salmonella. Out of an abundance of caution, Sunshine Mills chose to issue the voluntary recall in furtherance of its commitment to safety and quality.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled product should discontinue use and may return the unused portion to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers may contact Sunshine Mills, Inc. customer service at (800) 705-2111 from 7AM – 4PM CT, Mon. – Fri., or by email at customer.service@sunshinemills.com for additional information.
