Please welcome our new Marketing Manager, Lynsi Rathbun!
Hello all! I am very excited to take the opportunity to introduce myself as the new Marketing Manager for NASC. I come to the NASC with over 10 years’ experience in the animal health industry. I most recently spent 4 years with GNC, spending a majority of that as an Associate Marketing & Brand Manager for the GNC Pets line of supplements, treats and shampoos. I also spent some time in Product Development and Regulatory, which has helped give me a full-spectrum understanding of the pet supplement industry.
Previous to GNC, I spent 6 years working in various aspects of the veterinary field. I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and have worked in both small & large general practice, specialty/referral practice and as an instructor for a veterinary assistant program. I graduated Kent State University in 2005 with a degree in visual communications and went on to attend The Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh, PA, where I graduated in 2007.
Animals have always been a part of my life, both personally and professionally. I am passionate about giving back to them because they so selflessly give themselves to us. I have had the privilege of owning a large variety of animals since I was young; cows, horses, dogs, cats, small mammals and even a whitetail deer. I am especially fond of senior longhair miniature dachshunds, and Arabian horses. I currently own 3 older rescued longhair doxies; Fredrick, Lilu & Ziggy, and a purebred Arabian mare named Magic.
I am eager to tell NASC’s story in order to maximize recognition and value of the seal. Through feedback from members like you and education to our consumers, we can continue to grow the awareness and trust of our program. Our members have helped the NASC get where it is today. I am excited to collaborate with all of our resources so that we can expand the benefits and results of both the Primary and Preferred Supplier Programs. My overall focus is to brand the NASC seal, competitively differentiate our audited members and influence buying decisions.
In order to achieve these goals, I will be reaching out to each one of you to discuss ideas, suggestions and comments. I especially encourage you to contact me to provide educational content, relevant to the animal health industry as a whole, to share in our newsletters, websites and social platforms. I’d also love to hear any personal stories you have about what the NASC means to you, and why our mission is so important to the health of our pets. Tell your friends, colleagues and anyone who isn’t receiving our newsletters, but should be, to sign up on one of our websites, or to please contact me personally.
I am very happy to join the NASC team, and I look forward to meeting all of you personally!
