The NASC Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Sara J. Phillips of FoodScience, LLC has joined the NASC board, with an effective date of January 1, 2023.
Sara is Vice President of Global Pet Business for FoodScience, LLC, and throughout her 15 years with the company has held several management positions, driving success for all pet brands, private label, and contract manufacturing business units under the FoodScience umbrella.
“FoodScience is an NASC founding member company and Sara is an excellent addition to our board,” said Bill Bookout, NASC president and board chair. “She possesses deep experience gained from leading two brands and two separate contract manufacturing businesses and will bring valuable insight and energy to the board.”
Sara offers a unique perspective surrounding how a cooperative industry group like the NASC can raise the level of pet supplement household penetration in order to enable long-term, sustainable, and profitable growth for all NASC members.
“I am so thrilled to serve on the NASC Board of Directors and I look forward to taking a very active role with the organization as we continue to uplift the pet supplement industry and set the standard for what consumers should expect from pet supplement products,” Phillips said.
Sara ran for the board in 2022 and was first runner up after Mike Uckele and Elan Sudberg, who were both re-elected. She fills a vacancy left by board member Paal Gisholt, who has moved on to his new venture with Blueshift Nutrition.
Paal served as president and CEO of NASC founding member company Smartpak Equine, and his contributions have been invaluable over the years. The NASC wishes him the very best with his new company.
Please join us in welcoming Sara to the NASC board!
