Fabien Cousteau to Open National Animal Supplement Council’s
2013 Annual Conference on St. Pete Beach, Florida
Valley Center, Calif. (Aug. 2, 2012) – Noted documentary filmmaker and famed ocean explorer Fabien Cousteau will headline the 2013 National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) annual conference on May 14-16, on St. Pete Beach at the pet-friendly TradeWinds Island Grand Resort.
Fabien Cousteau, the first grandson of world-renowned oceanographic explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau, is known throughout the world for his conservation efforts for the ocean. Cousteau’s conservation crusade has led him to speak at major global conferences around the world including Google Zeitgeist, DLD, TEDx, Rio +20 Summit and the United Nations Foundation. In addition to co-producing a multi-hour documentary series for PBS called “Ocean Adventures,” Cousteau founded Plant A Fish, an innovative nonprofit organization designed to empower communities and children to help restore their local water ecosystems through the healthy “replanting” of key marine species.
“Without a healthy ocean, we don’t have a healthy planet,” says Cousteau, who will discuss the impact of marine life on our planet and its people and companion animals during NASC’s opening reception on May 15. “Every person and animal living on this planet is connected to what’s happening in the sea.”
Conference attendees will have the opportunity to network with Cousteau at a beachfront, dog-friendly cocktail party immediately following the presentation.
NASC’s 3rd annual awards ceremony will take place at the conclusion of the conference on May 16, at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort oceanfront venue that sits on beautiful St. Pete Beach, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. NASC members will be honored for their dedication to the animal health supplement industry. NASC is now accepting nominations for its 2013 Visibility Awards. Companies must be audited NASC members or primary suppliers to qualify. Criteria and submission process can be found online at: NASC 2013 Visibility Awards .
