2017 Conference Recap

The 2017 NASC Annual Conference was a smash hit and we are so thankful to all who attended for helping to make it our best conference yet! Enjoy highlights and photos of the conference below.

Thank you to our 2017 sponsors!

NASC Member Generosity Abounds at Heroes & Horses Fundraiser!

Each year, the NASC Board of Directors selects a nonprofit organization to support as part of our conference activities. This year we are supporting Heroes and Horses, a unique Montana-based program that uses the remote wilderness and the horse/human connection to challenge and inspire personal growth in combat veterans. Heroes and Horses was founded in 2013 by Micah Fink, a former Navy Seal who saw the struggles returning veterans faced as they transitioned back to civilian life, and with his wife, Mackenzie, created this proven program that invokes change and helps America’s heroes make peace with the past.

During the conference, Micah delivered his inspirational story of how he found his own purpose by creating Heroes and Horses, and told stories from the wilderness trail about stubborn horses, determined humans, and true moments of transformation. Micah’s moving presentation kicked off fundraising activities throughout the conference – which included a raffle and live auction – that garnered $19,000 in contributions! We cannot thank our members enough for this incredible display of generosity, which will help Heroes and Horses continue to replace devastation with hope in the lives of countless veterans.

Heroes and Horses can always use additional support, and has volunteer opportunities and a wish list posted on their website. Please consider getting involved with this great cause!

2017 NASC Outstanding Achievement Award Winner

NASC was pleased to honor Primary Supplier member Direct Action Company with the 2017 NASC Outstanding Achievement Award, which recognizes one company each year that truly goes above and beyond in marketing their NASC membership and promoting the Quality Seal. DAC recently launched new marketing materials that strategically spotlight the Quality Seal, and they work closely with NASC to identify ways to communicate the Quality Seal message. They invited Bill Bookout to speak at their February dealer meeting, where attendees heard the story of how NASC evolved and how we are impacting the industry today. Thank you to DAC for fostering a strong partnership with NASC!

2017 NASC MVP Supplier Award Winners

We had the privilege at this year’s conference of honoring four Preferred Suppliers with the 2017 NASC MVP Supplier Award:

  • Garmon Corporation
  • Pharmore Ingredients, Inc.
  • Trouw Nutrition International
  • Venable LLP

This award recognizes Preferred Supplier members that provide us with extensive support in keeping the Preferred Supplier program on track and moving forward. From sound legal advice to brainstorming sessions and physical support at industry shows, these four companies took the lead in keeping current Preferred Suppliers on the straight and narrow, and promoting the program to prospective members in a variety of ways. We simply could not have made the progress with did without this support.

Networking with NASC Preferred Suppliers!

The Preferred Supplier networking area was the place to be during meal breaks and between conference sessions! Forty-six Preferred Suppliers were on hand to talk about their capabilities and help promote use of the program. Our camera captured many friendly faces ready to greet members!
